Rewrite a Story with Technology!
Looking for a fun project that gets students thinking about how technology is affecting society? I recently assigned the task of having students rewrite a fairy tale or story with the addition of different types of current technology. How would the actual story plot change and what would be the new outcome? I derived this lesson from a NY Times Learning Network lesson plan and it was a great success. Students not only demonstrated their creative abilities, but looked at how technology could have helped their characters overcome their situations. Here is an example of two students, Amelia and Piper who used Book Creator to relate their new story of Rapunzel. Great work, ladies!
